Frequently Asked Questions

Will my house be made out of coffee cups?

Let’s face it. We have all thought it when first introduced to polystyrene cladding. Will my house blow down? Will it dent easily? Will somebody be able to punch through the wall? The fact is over 1,000,000 m2 of EPS sheeting gets used as residential cladding throughout Australia every year. Whilst the thought of polystyrene as you may know it seems daunting, EPS cladding is designed to stand up to some of the harshest conditions and has surpassed all building code requirements. The cladding itself is both insect repellent and fire retardant, add with this the fact it is water and vapour impermeable, as well as over-coating it with a high-grade render system and no big bad wolf in the world will be able to blow your house down.

Can you complete other external works?

Yes we sure can. Whether its Hebel, Matrix, linea board, weathertex, fibre cement, soffitts, sarking, rendering, or painting we have got you covered.

What are your prices?

Because of the nature with this type of work we have complex pricing structures to ensure job pricing accuracy, consistency and competitive project prices. We prefer to price each project separately and take pride in providing a full marked up set of plans and itemised quote for your project with a 72 hour turn around. Alternatively we are available to meet you on site to discuss your needs.

What is EPS Cladding?

Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) Cladding is manufactured from styrene monome and is an insulated walling system suitable for external cladding of timber or steel framed buildings. The system provides a weather resistant, seam free rendered finish in a wide range of textures and colours. It also provides continuous thermal insulation over the entire wall. Developed in Germany in 1973, these systems have been extensively used throughout Western Europe and North America where strict environmental laws are in place governing the energy efficiency of both private and commercial buildings. The system is now well established in Australia ranging from dry arid areas, to tropical and alpine regions, whilst proving energy efficiency, cost effective and flexible construction.

Can you provide paint?

Yes, and not only just your exterior painting needs, we’re able to service all your interior requirements also.

Do I have to coat cladding?

Yes, we offer the complete package from install all the way through to render and paint, so there’s nothing else for you to worry about in relation to your external cladding requirements.

What are Sunhoods, and how will they benefit me?

Sunhoods (or Blades) are a lightweight feature to add around any window or door. They are made of EPS (foam) and are easily installed. Sunhoods will enhance the architectural appearance of modern building design, whilst providing both ‘shading’ and ‘weather’ protection over windows and doors.

How does AAC compare to brick?

AAC panels contain anti-corrosion steel reinforcement, making them strong, solid and a reliable choice for building your home. Tests have shown that AAC and traditional brick have a similar impact resistance
